1. What actions might the teacher be wanting to justify in asking “Who is my neighbour?”
2. Why do you think Jesus made a Samaritan the hero in the story? What does this say about Jesus?
3. How do we put this into practice? How do we get better at noticing those around us? Have you ever refused to help someone? Why? If you could have the that same opportunity to help, how could you respond according to Jesus teaching here? What might going above and beyond look like for you?
4. Who do you identify with in the story? The priest/levite, the Samaritan or the man who has been beaten and robbed? How are you the same? How are you different? What do these different characters say about people?
